Dr. Park supervises the creation of your porcelain veneers, ensuring that they match the color and shape of your surrounding original teeth or whitened teeth. Durable and completely natural looking, porcelain veneers can give you a healthy, attractive smile for years to come with proper care. Schedule a consultation with Dr. Park today to find out how we can enhance and improve your smile with porcelain veneers. Porcelain Crowns at Susan N Park, D.M.D.While porcelain veneers cover the fronts of your teeth, porcelain crowns are permanent custom-designed shells that cover the entire surface area of the tooth, making them ideal for teeth that have fractured, are badly decayed or missing a great deal of tooth structure. Aside from reinforcing these weaker teeth, porcelain crowns look completely natural, allowing you to regain the appearance of your original teeth. Dr. Park will customize your porcelain crowns so that they perfectly match the size and color for your particular needs, restoring strength to your bite and beauty to your smile. Dental Bridges at Our Fort Myers Beach Comprehensive Dental PracticeCrafted from strong, durable porcelain, dental bridges provide an excellent, natural looking solution to missing teeth. We take great care in customizing dental bridges at our Fort Myers Beach cosmetic dental practice, making sure that they fit securely and comfortably in your mouth. Comprised of crowns over natural teeth and porcelain artificial teeth, dental bridges are fixed permanently in the mouth, restoring both the appearance and function of the missing original teeth. Once in place, your dental bridge will be completely undetectable, allowing you to speak and chew with renewed confidence. Newer resin bonded bridges can sometimes be used to restore function for a more conservative but beautiful and less costly result. If you would like to learn more about dental bridges, please contact us today. Tooth-Colored Composite and Porcelain Fillings at Susan N Park, D.M.D.Tooth-colored composite fillings are used to fill cavities on tooth surfaces or to replace old metal fillings. Not only do tooth-colored fillings offer an aesthetic advantage over metal fillings, they are also strong and durable porcelain inlays and onlays can be used for larger cavities. Restoring both function and beauty to your mouth, tooth-colored fillings are an excellent, biologically sound alternative to their traditional counterparts. Dental Bonding at Susan N Park, D.M.D.A quick alternative to porcelain veneers, dental bonding is used to repair chipped or poorly shaped teeth using a tooth colored resin material. This treatment is usually completed in one appointment, making it ideal for those who want immediate, natural looking results. Personalized Dentures at Susan N Park, D.M.D.Restoring your teeth with custom dentures can create a dazzling smile with improved function. Custom dentures are made with care taking into account the comfort, beauty and form of your mouth. No dentist can guarantee every denture patient will be 100 percent satisfied, but our technique of treating the denture patient is sophisticated, time-consuming and personalized. New custom partial treatments eliminate unsightly clasps and put less destructive force on remaining teeth.

Dr. Park is using the Laser for several procedures to meet the esthetic and restorative demands of her patients. The Laser enables Dr. Park to expand her level of patient care based on the variety of procedures for which are indicated. Esthetic and restorative needs can be addressed painlessly to recontour and enhance the smile line. Treatment of periodontal (gum) disease can be accomplished without cutting or placing stitches. If you suffer from cold sores or canker sores, a simple laser treatment can eliminate the pain and speed the healing process. Appliance Therapies Dr. Park can create several types of oral appliances from anti-snoring devices for sleep apnea to night guards that will treat bruxism, grinding and clenching. Some people grind their teeth only during sleep; this condition is called "nocturnal bruxism" or "sleep-related bruxism." Others grind their teeth during the daytime as well, most often during situations that make them feel tense or anxious. People with severe bruxism can fracture dental fillings or cause other types of tooth damage. Severe bruxism has also been blamed for some cases of temporomandibular joint dysfunction (TMD), mysterious morning headaches and unexplained facial pain. People with nighttime grinding habits may wear down their tooth enamel many times faster than without abusive chewing habits. Eventually teeth may be worn down and destroyed. In order to treat snoring and sleep apnea Dr. Park can also fashion devices to eliminate or decrease the snoring that affects both the patient and his or her partner. Periodontics Periodontal disease starts with bleeding gums, but can lead to tooth loss if allowed to continue. Dr. Park will conduct a periodontal examination to evaluate the health of your gums and teeth. From gingivitis to advanced periodontitis, gum disease has a number of stages. Catching it early is your best bet. Scaling and root planing is the most common and conservative form of treatment for periodontal (gum) disease. Scaling is the removal of calculus (commonly called tartar) and plaque from the tooth, especially below the gum line along the root surface. Root planing smoothes the root surface to remove any remaining calculus and to buff out any scratches that may have occurred during scaling. Plaque is the sticky substance, full of bacteria, that usually forms on your teeth. When plaque becomes calcified, or hardened, over time, it is called calculus. Scaling and root planing are done to remove all of the irritants (plaque and calculus) that can cause periodontal disease. For early stages of the disease, especially gingivitis, this treatment may be all that is needed to get the condition under control. With more advanced gum disease, this may be the first step before moving on to surgical treatment. Because of the proven causal relationship between heart disease and gum disease Dr. Park is most aggressive in treating her patients who suffer from periodontal disease. Splinting is the placement of a device used to support, protect, or immobilize oral structures that have been loosened, replanted, fractured or traumatized. It also refers to devices used in the treatment of temporomandibular joint disorders. |
